DAY 1 CANCUN
Arrive Cancun and transfer to hotel.
DAY 2 MERIDA
Morning coach transfer to Merida visiting on the way Valladolid, stop and see a cenote, an underground limestone sinkhole. They Maya believed the cenote was an entrance to the underworld. Continue on to Merida, the capital and cultural center of Merida. For overnight.
DAY 3 CELESTUM, UXMAL
This morning city tour will take us by the mansions of Paseo de Montejo, a boulevard modeled after the Champs-Elysees in Paris., see the oldest Cathedral in Mexico built over the site of a Maya temple. Than travel through remote towns to the fishing village of Celestun, then cruise on the Rio Esperanza to the Flamingo Park bird sanctuary. Where you will see hundreds of wild flamingos, as well as egrets, anhinga and cormorants in their natural habitat. Next we continue on to Uxmal, the most beautiful of the Mayan ruins. Overnight at the Hacienda Uxmal Hotel. Evening visit the light and sound show.
DAY 4 CHICHEN-ITZAThis morning walking tour of the Uxmal ruins, climb the Great Pyramid of the Magicians, walk to the Nunnery Quadrangle, the Ball Court, the Governor's Palace and the House of Turtles. For lunch we will drive to a restored 200 year old hacienda. Stroll the luxurious grounds, then continue on to Chichen Itza for overnight at the Mayaland Hotel on the Mayan ruin grounds.
DAY 5 PLAYA DEL CARMENToday we tour the famous Maya site of Chichen Itza. Visit the Astronomical Observatory the Sacrificial Cenote, the Ball court The Grand Castle and the Thousand Columns. After lunch we will coach to the largest of all the Mayan ruins, 30 square miles, the ruins of Coba...Continue to the Maya Riviera for a two night stay at our oceanfront hotel near Tulum.
DAY 6 TULUM, SIAN KA'ANThis morning visit the 1.2 million acre reserve of Sian Ka'an Biosphere. Covering salt marshes, savannas, beaches and lagoons, this is home to over 300 species of birds like parrots, toucans and the jabiru stork. During the afternoon visit the ecological park of X-caret where you will walk all afternoon and snorkel in an underground river and a cenote. Evening dinner and folkloric show.
DAY 7 XAMAN-HA, CANCUN Today we will drive to Playa del Carmen and visit the Xaman Ha Aviary where we will see scarlet macaws, Toucans, roseate spoonbills and parrots. Than continue on to Cancun to our ocean view hotel for two nights.
DAY 8 CANCUN Today is a free day for you to stroll and beach comb the endless miles of beaches made of white sand that is composed of microscopic fossils. All types of water sports are available including, scuba diving, snorkeling fishing, etc. or take a trip to Isla Mujeres. Your guide will make the arrangements and suggestions.
DAY 9 HOMETour ends with a transfer to the airport.
