Day 4        TREKKING TO RECOHUATA HOT SPRINGS (BL)
Today: Breakfast and lunch included
Breakfast at hotel. Explore mountains & canyons/hike Tarahumara Country. Full day trek down the canyon to the thermal water springs of Recohuata. 3 pools, where you can soak, including box/picnic lunch or cook to do “carne asada” (including extra Tarahumara Indian guide to assist our Trekking Leader if necessary).. Distance 24 miles.

Breakfast at hotel. And free time for hiking on your own or shopping for Indian crafts, then a one and a half hour train ride to Divisadero. lunch on your own. Group will then do rim hiking to piedra volada for different views of the canyon. Dinner at hotel (family style buffet). And local entertainment. 6-mile hike. Hotel Divisadero.

Today a 6 hr hike ½ way down the canyon including a picnic (by hotel) or cook to do “carne asada” and return by evening (with additional Tarahumara hiking guide to assist Trekking Leader if necessary). Dinner at hotel (family style buffet). Local entertainment.. 9 mile hike. Hotel Divisadero

Free morning for hiking on your own or shopping and trading with the Tarahumara Indians that come to the hotel to sell their crafts. Or optional bus tour to a Tarahumara Indian Village. After Lunch board the train for the two-hour ride to Bahuichivo, then transfer to Cerocahui Hotel Paraíso del Oso.

The trek to Urique features fantastic mountain views and cultural experiences. It is a fairly simple hike with a 600-foot elevation gain on the first day, followed by a 3500-foot descent. All this in 6 hours of hiking. Trekkers pass through three different biological life zones. Hike through the dramatic El Cajon Canyon climbing 400 meters to Pass of the Cross for lunch and a dramatic overview of the canyons below. Depart the Pass on steep mountain trails descending over a kilometer to the remote pueblo of Navajo. Camp beneath tropical fruit trees and socialize with the Meleton Mancinas family in their adobe home. Accessible only on foot, Naranjo is surrounded by high canyon walls and retains a rural charm reminiscent of times gone by. A special Chihuahua cookout accompanied by dinner wine highlights festivities with our host family as we celebrate our successful day on the trail (6-7 hours hiking).
The trip includes all camping equipment, all meals, transportation of up to 10 pounds of personal gear per person, campsite on the trail and tour.

Early morning breakfast at camp and early departure for our hike back to Cerocahui in time for lunch at our hotel then transfer to Bahuichivo to board the Ferromex First Class Train to El Fuerte, or to Chihuahua. on arrival transfer to the colonial Hotel Posada Hidalgo for overnight.

Morning walking tour of El Fuerte, and transfer to Los Mochis airport for your flight home or for the continuation of your holiday to the beach resorts of La Paz or Los Cabos. If returning to El Paso, transfer to the bus station, bus tickets included.

Today: Breakfast, lunch and dinner included
For the Los Cabos extension clients. After our walking tour of El Fuerte we will continue with a bird watching hike (or raft, optional) along the El Fuerte River to the Paseo de Las Aves Restaurant for lunch. This afternoon we will transfer to Los Mochis for some free time down town and dinner, than transfer to Topolobampo for our overnight Ferry Cruise (cabins included) to La Paz and overnight at Hotel Los Arcos.

After breakfast we will transfer to San Jose del Cabo and check in at our beach side hotel. Free afternoon for optional activities.

Extensions to Mazatlan, Loreto, San Carlos, Acapulco, Cancun or any other Mexican destinations are available on request.
